About

Helping people feel heard, supported and empowered.

One Life Counselling exists so people have somewhere safe, confidential and nonjudgmental to land — and a steady hand to help them make meaningful changes.

A calm still life — a cup of tea, a sprig of eucalyptus and an open notebook on a linen surface in soft morning light.
Meet the counsellor

Hamide Yelken

Registered Clinical Counsellor · PACFA member

I started One Life Counselling in 2023 to help people feel heard, supported and empowered to make meaningful changes. I was inspired by a psychologist I saw in my late teens — someone who made me feel met, not measured. I carry that with me in every session.

I bring 9 years in child protection and 11 years in Corrections, alongside specialist training in alcohol and other drug counselling. That lived professional experience shapes trauma-informed, personalised care delivered in a welcoming, nonjudgmental space.
